I Didn’t Post to Instagram for a Week {Personal}

I haven’t posted a photo on Instagram since last Tuesday.  It was an Instagram post to wish my husband a happy birthday.  Since then, sure, I’ve done Instagram stories and shown a little of the day-to-day, but I haven’t showcased any of my work.  No tips and tricks.  No stellar reviews (they all exist).

Instead I gave my time to my clients, my family, and my friends.  Isn’t that what I ask every single person who hires me to do their social media to do?  I found that I didn’t have any pretty pictures to post, there weren’t things that could “curate” my feed (we know that I don’t do that), and I didn’t want to half ass it.  So I didn’t.

I worked on a new project and gave a little bit more to my clients.  I’m working on scheduling things well enough in advance that I can take a vacation next month.  I needed to breathe.  How does one give and give and give of themselves all the time to the people that love them, to their clients, and themselves and then post all day to their social media and show the best of the best?  You make a plan.  You stick to it.  I’m going to do just that.  I’m going to start treating my social media like I treat my clients: with more intention than before, with a real marketing plan, and I’m excited to share that with you.

So what now?

ISO:EDU is doing a class on Instagram this month, and I’m excited to talk to it – and revitalize what my Instagram is.  It’s going to be comprised of my personal life, my professional life, and everything in between.  I’m going to care a little bit less about the quality pictures that I post (I was trying not to post cell phone photos – it doesn’t matter!).  Content is key.  I didn’t feel like I had any – and now I know where I’m going with it.

Social media is so important to your business.  It’s always been the main source of business for my company – and I hope to do the same thing for you.

You’ll see some more posting from me in the coming weeks.  I’m excited to share some new things with you, and in a new way. I’ve got a mission and that’s to show you all how important social media can be – and is to me.
