I See You, Business Owner {Professional}

I see you, business owner.  I see that you are working hard, every day, day in and day out.  You are staying up late, missing time with family and friends, just to get the job done.  I see you, and I’m here to tell you to take care of yourself.

It’s hard owning a business, and those are the things that people don’t want to talk about.  No one is ever going to care as much as you.  No one is ever going to understand – not completely, anyway, the level of dedication you have to your success.  They also aren’t going to know that you don’t take the time that you really need to recharge.

You have to have a workflow.  You have to have a system in place to make sure that you can actually take a day off.  Do you know what I did yesterday?  I laid around and did nothing all morning, then took my kids to the waterpark with my husband in the afternoon.  I didn’t work.  Sure, I engaged with some clients on Instagram and was on my phone, but I also was present with my family.

The real reason that I started Misty Saves the Day was because I wanted to make my own schedule.  I think a lot of people think that when they start a business.  They think things like, “I’ll be my own boss!  I can work when I want!”  Sure, that’s true, but you still have clients that keep you going.  You still have deadlines to meet, and outcomes to produce.

The best thing that I ever did for my business was get 17Hats.  It allowed me to have a real workflow, to work to work ahead.  I was working until all hours of the night to get things done, because I didn’t have something (or someone) to hold me accountable.  17Hats made it so I knew what I could leave for tomorrow.  ISO:EDU has a workshop coming up next month – all about workflow and how to make your life easier.  Interested in coming, or learning more?  Check out the Academy here and learn more about our monthly workshops.

Aside from that, just having someone to handle the small stuff, like your social media, can make all the difference in the world.  That’s where I come in.  If I can even take one thing off of your plate, maybe you can stop working before dinner.  Maybe you won’t overthink everything that you’re sharing, and that Instagram post won’t take you 45 minutes to create.  Want to learn more about Misty Saves the Day?
